Introduction
Addiction is by definition a chronic
relapsing disease with both genetic and environmental contributing
factors that primarily affect the pleasure centers of the brain. It has
three broad components: medical, emotional, and spiritual and is
characterized by compulsive drug or alcohol use in spite of negative
consequences that invariably lead to premature illness and even death
unless arrested.
Addiction is by far the nation's largest public health and social
problem, directly affecting about 10% of our population. It is a family
disease, and each addict profoundly affects all those around him. Over
50% of the population is deeply affected by the disease of addiction.
TRIAD Treatment Center is unique in addressing all three components of
the disease of addiction. To achieve lasting success in treating
addiction, all three must be addressed. Our proprietary NTR™
(Neurotransmission Restoration) treatment system, using
naturally-occurring amino acid infusions to heal the drug-damaged brain,
is the missing medical link in the drug and alcohol treatment puzzle.
