TRIAD Treatment Center,
located in San Juan Capistrano, CA, is the only authorized
provider in the Western United States for the “NeuroTransmission
Restoration System” (NTR™ ). NTR™ provides the alcoholic and addict a
“Jump Start into Recovery”.
This exciting treatment for addictions of all kinds is comprised of
naturally-occurring amino acids, minerals, and buffers, and is given
intravenously over a contiguous 10-day period in a convenient
outpatient, physician’s office setting. It works for alcohol, stimulants
(cocaine, methamphetamine), opiates (heroin, Oxycontin, Vicodin,
others), benzodiazepines (valium, xanax, ativan, others), marijuana,
hallucinagens (LSD, PCP, mescaline, others) and most any other drug of
abuse.
NTR™ results in:
* Decreased or eliminated drug cravings
* Speedier return of normal brain function following cessation of drugs
* Markedly less unpleasant detox (drug elimination) phase

Prior to the development of the NTR™ System, there were no medical
approaches for the treatment of addiction that really worked. NTR™
creates a nutritional environment in the drug-altered brain that causes
the brain cells to shift into the so-called “repair phase”. During this
rare cycle in a cell’s life, the cells shift their efforts to repairing
altered or “damaged” cell components, including cell-surface
neurotransmitter receptor complexes.
The result is a much faster (10 days or so) return of the drug-altered
brain back towards normal. Without NTR™, these changes towards normal,
healthy functioning take weeks, months, and even years to occur, if at
all. Often, some damage remains, especially in the case of
methamphetamine.
NTR™ is a truly revolutionary development in drug addiction treatment.
Previously, the most effective approach to drug and alcohol addiction
treatment was the 12-Step approach, as is embodied in Alcoholics
Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and other similar processes.
Even then, sobriety rates after one year of treatment are only in the
region of 20% at best. With NTR™, one-year continuous sobriety rates of
up to 70% have been seen.
NTR™ was developed by Dr. William Hitt,. a PhD bench scientist and who
subsequently became a physician, as well. His early work in the
laboratory was with tissue cultures. Back in the early 1980’s he noted
that certain cell and tissue culture nutrient environments caused the
cells to dramatically shift into the “repair phase”, where they focused
all efforts on fixing damaged cellular machinery and parts. After a
painstaking series of experiments to determine the optimal nutrient
environments for this, he devised what we know today is the NTR™ System.
Dr. Hitt’s early clinical work involved the treatment of over 10,000
chronic alcoholics, all of whom he treated with his NTR™ System, and
with an astonishing success rate of 70% continuous abstinence after one
year.
The TRIAD Treatment Center opened at its current location in January of
2006 under the original name “Pure Life Medical Center”. The name was
changed in June of 2006 to the current TRIAD Treatment Center to better
reflect the fact that addiction is a three-part disease: Medical,
Emotional, and Spiritual. NTR™ is the first truly effective
medical/nutritional treatment that addresses the medical and
physiological aspects of the disease of addition.
NTR™ is NOT a cure-all. Rather, it is a highly-effective “Jump Start
into Recovery”. It provides the newly-recovering alcoholic and addict
with the clarity of mind to much more effectively participate in group
work and other rehab activities. The early process is also much less
miserable, in particular the detox phase. Cravings are a thing of the
past. This alone is a miracle, as any recovering alcoholic or drug
addict will quickly tell you.
TRIAD strongly advocates that all of its patients also undergo
traditional rehab treatment (either inpatient or outpatient, as
appropriate), as well as to participate regularly in 12-Step meetings,
including having a sponsor and using that sponsor.
In coming months we will be incorporating initial addiction education
and early rehab experiences, and will facilitate our patients’ obtaining
the additional aspects of treatment that would be best for each.
