Prometa
Prometa™ is a “brain restoration”
therapy for drug and alcohol addiction which is very similar to NTR™ in
terms of overall effects and benefits. It uses 3 well-known and safe
FDA-approved medications plus nutritional guidelines to achieve its
brain-healing results, which are*:
• Elimination of drug cravings
• Speedier return of lost cognitive brain function
• Less painful withdrawal/detox period
Prometa™ is licensed by Hythiam, Inc. of Los Angeles, and has been
available for treatment of drug and alcohol addicts since 2004. Like
NTR™, it essentially replaces the traditional medical detoxification
process as step one in a drug and alcohol treatment program. TRIAD is
one of a very few select treatment providers that offer Prometa™
treatment in Orange County. It works for alcohol, cocaine, and
methamphetamine.
Prometa™ is not intended to be a stand-alone treatment for drug and
alcohol addiction. Rather, it should be combined with a tailored
psycho-social-spiritual rehab program that addresses the other two
aspects of the disease of addiction. But adding Prometa™ to a
comprehensive treatment program is a Jump Start Into Recovery!
Addicts who have first gone through Prometa™ are able to engage in the
psycho-social aspects of rehab treatment much sooner and much more
effectively than when traditional medical detoxes are used to get drugs
out of the system and brain. More importantly, addicts in early recovery
are now no longer constantly obsessed with thoughts of their drug and
using; their drug cravings are gone. They can now concentrate on their
recovery and avoid dreaded relapse while learning to live life
differently- which is what rehab is all about.
Both the Alcohol and Stimulants Prometa™ programs are 39 days long. They
are comprised of 3 (alcohol) or 5 (stimulants; cocaine and
methamphetamine) office-based treatment sessions lasting about 2 hours
each where the three medications that comprise Prometa™ are given. Two
of these medications are oral, the third is given intravenously (IV).
The rest of the 39 days of the treatment program involves taking
prescribed oral medication and following important nutritional
guidelines that are also part of the treatment protocol.
TRIAD’s Behavioral Service Team will conduct an in-depth chemical
dependency evaluation on all Prometa™ clients early in their treatment,
and will then help them put together a comprehensive, tailored addiction
treatment program, and thereby addressing the other two aspects of the
disease of addiction besides the brain tissues part: the emotional and
spiritual aspects.
